Family Update

SO now that I got Brooklyn's birth story done and out of the way I can now start to up date those that read this about whats been going on with my little family!

Well since my last last post which was back when we were in Washington A LOT has gone on!!! We moved back to Arizona for starters. We moved back in with Chads parents in San Tan Valley. Chad is a transporter for Dignity Memorial ( he picks up the deceased...ewww!) But it pays the bills and I all I have to deal with is the sometimes VERY disgusting stories, but at least I don't have to do his job. And I am a stay at home of to Beautiful and Crazy girls Rylee and Brooklyn. Who are 2 and 1 years old now.

A week after I had Brooklyn in May 7th 2012, Rylee had her 1st birthday! It's truly how fast the first year goes by! She took her first steps the night of her birthday party which was  the 19th I believe. It was so fun because everyone on both sides of the family could celebrate as she took those first steps. She has so many people that love her and I hope she knows that now and forever!

So now there is 7 kids living under one roof... well needles to say it became to much plus it was to much gas for chad to drive into work so we decided to go back and live with my parents and set a goal to get our own place with in the year.

On July 28th 2012 my Grandpa Darnell past away. He missed his 93rd birthday by 3 months. He lived such a great life. I miss him so much. He was such a good man and was so giving. He helped my family so much. I love my "little papa" He meant the world to me but I know that I will see in again some day. I am just so grateful that my girls got to know there great grandpa, even though it might have only been for a short time they are so lucky to have such a wonderful great grandpa.

After that came all the holidays which were so fun with having 2 girls to chase around. There Uncle Colton even came down to visit from Utah for Christmas)

Since my grandpa passed away his house was empty and after my dad talked with his parents they decided it was best for not that they moved into it since the cold up in Utah was bad on my grandpa J's joints and were planning to move down here anyway why not have family stay there instead of some strangers. So now my grandparents are here and we love having them around!

Chad and I just had our 4 year Anniversary!! I cant believe its been this long already. In a blink of an eye it seems like now. I am so luck to have such a wonderful man in my life. He is an AMAZING HUSBAND AND FATHER! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful eternal companion.

Chad turned 24 this past January. and I am turning 24 this Wednesday! I know I know...we'ere so old!! Just kidding. Speaking of birthdays my little sweethearts just had there birthdays on the 7th and 14th and We had their party on the 11th. We went swimming and had a BBQ. It was so much fun!! Brooklyn follows in her sister's foot steps and starting walking the week of her birthday but just a few steps. Finally over these last few weeks has gotten brave and is walking all over the place.  Rylee is talking up a storm and her imagination is just blossoming!! She is so much fun. And Brooklyn is is such a fire cracker! She has some crazy lungs on her cause she can scream so high! It drives my sister mad! But she will grow out of it soon...I HOPE! LOL Well that just about sums it up for now. If I forgot anything I will come back to you with it. And I will be adding pictures when I get some free time!!

Brooklyn Skye's Birth

Way over due!! I know lots of people don't really ready this but t least I have important parts of my life written down so that I can remember them. This particular post was suppose to to be done a year ago but I have just kept putting it off.

A year ago on May 7th 2012 I became a mother of 2 beautiful girls. Brooklyn was born on May 7th at 8:15 pm weighing 7 lb 9 oz... And this is her birth story!

It was a pretty warm Monday in Queen creek AZ and  I was on my way with Chad to a OB appointment. At this time I was around 37 week along and so ready to be done with this pregnancy! Its hard when your pregnant and you have a 11 month old running around!! Well anyways my OB was going to be out of town so I had to go see other OB. I cant recall her name but had seen her once before and she was really nice. When I went in and she checked out if I was dilated and check for a few other things. I was only at a one and then she asked if she wanted to swipe my mem-brains. I had already read about this and knew if would help with progressing my labor a little faster if I was lucky. So I told her that would be fine, cause like I said I was ready to have this baby out!! She told me that this doesn't always work but for some it does it just depend. Well it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it wasn't pleasant at all :). After the appointment we went to grab a card from my brother in law Jake that was working next to the hospital at Wellsfargo so we could take it home to Heather (Chad's sister) While I was waiting in the car I was starting to get crampy and I knew the procedure that the Dr had done was working. By the time we grabbed lunch and got back home I was having more than just cramps, I was have contractions. I couldn't even really eat my food, I had no desire to eat. We finally started time my contractions and they became closer and closer together. once they  were about 4 to 5 minutes apart I told Chad that we should head in, what was the worse they could do...send us back home?!?!

On the the hospital we went. The nurse took us back into Triage They went ahead and hooked me up to the monitors and started to watch my contractions and the nurse checked to see how far I was dialated I was. I believe I was only at a 2. But I was definitely having contractions that were about 6 minutes apart. So they had we walk for 1 hour to help kick start labor. After walking, which seemed like forever they had me go back into the room to check me again. this time I was up to a 4 I believe and my contractions were getting closer. They still didn't want to admit me to the hospital because I wasn't as far along as they wanted me to be (its hospital rules or something, its stupid) They let me sit there a little while longer and they made me walk again...for an hour. But this time I didn't last the whole hour. My contractions had gotten so bad that while I was walking that I was having to stop ever other minute because I was in so much pain and I was bawling it was excruciating. I lasted only like 25 minutes before I told chad I couldn't take any more. I went and laid back down and went and checked me and finally told me they would start paper work to admit me!!

They rolled me into the labor and delivery room were we waited to have our sweet baby Brooklyn!

So by now I had been "in labor" or "dealing with going in to labor pretty much all day and it was now getting into the late afternoon and still no baby. At some point I finally asked for a epidural. I was so happy but knew something was wrong when I could lift my legs more then I should. and I was starting to feel my contractions so I asked for an extra dose of the epidural medicine. Even with that I still didn't feel right. I had been through labor before and had an epidural so I knew what I was suppose to and not suppose to be feeling. They checked me every once and a while the last time they checked me I was at a 9 to a 9. Then all of a sudden my water broke and Brooklyn wasn't waiting for anyone. My body was telling me to push and the doc and the team of nurses took there sweet time getting ready to deliver our baby. I told time I couldn't wait and that I needed to push!!! And on top of that my epidural still wasn't working all the way so I felt so much more than I ever wanted to! It was awful!! I was bawling and screaming and Chad was right there by my side trying to keep me as calm as possible. He is such a great husband!! I was such a mess and he never left my side the whole day. Well at 8:26pm Brooklyn Sky Carton was born!! She was and is so perfect! She had a little head of hair and had these big chubby cheeks. And right from the get go she had that little tongue of hers sticking out. She was so silly. We told her she had a tongue like her Uncle Kirt and Uncle Colton! She looked so different from her Big sister Rylee but looked so much the same.

When family was finally able to come in a visit Rylee looked at me and didn't know what to think of me of Brooklyn! She wouldn't even go to me. But she eventually warmed up to us. All and all Brooklyn was a healthy baby and we couldn't be any happier. We were finally a family of 4! I love my family and so grateful and blessed to have her as my daughter!!

Fall Time Baby!

Hello from Washington!!!

Hey family and friend, hope all is well. We miss everyone so much but are doing well. Got up here safe and sound and have had the place to ourselves since we got here. Its been nice having some time to get settled in and stuff. Well we have been here for 2 weeks come this Tuesday. Everyone is doing well. Rylee is great. Just as cute as ever! We are loving the weather, we have had several sunny days, which has been nice. Right now it's pretty cloudy (no surprise there) But it is really gorgeous up here. The trees are so many different colors and there is tons of leaves on the ground. It's been so fun getting all bundled up in winter clothes and going for walks and enjoying the weather.

We hope everyone everyone has a wonderful Halloween. I know we are! I don't think Chad and I are going to dress up but We got a costume for Rylee, she is going to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast. We will make sure to take lots of pictures. We miss everyone and can't wait for some of you to come visit us once we get our own place.

Hope to talk to you guys soon, love you!!

Here are some pictures from our Sunday walk down a little path close by are place. Enjoy!

The day our lives changed forever

It was Friday May 13th. It started out as any normal day. Alarm goes off at 6:40am and then I snooze it again and wake up at 6:50am to get ready for work. Was really excited that it was Friday. I was ready for the weekend. So everything wend smoothly through out the work day. Felt a little weird during playground time so went in the class room to rest. Felt fine after resting for a few minutes and finshed up my day at work. Went home and go ready for a special event for my old choir teacher, Mrs Tellef, who was retiring after over 20 years of teaching. They were having a reception in her honor that night. I was looking forward to seeing old class mates and singing for Mrs Tellef.
When my mom and I got to the reception I noticed some pressure in my lower abdomen but didn't think anything of it. Everyone said that I was looking great being almost 37 week along in my pregnancy. I thought so to and was feeling pretty good too! They had this cute program set up for Mrs. Tellef and in between clip of video and talking the alumni would get up and sing songs from the past. it was so fun to walk down memory lane. At the end of the program we were all once again asked to get up and sing one more song...God be with you till we meet again. One of Tellefs favorite songs. Afterward we were asked to remained standing while they presented some other things to Mrs. Tellef. As I am standing there I slip off my flips cause my ankles and feet were pretty swollen. Not Even 10 SECONDS later I feel a little burst of water in between my legs and onto the floor. I look down, up and then over to my best friend from 6th grade and whisper "Michelle...I think my water just broke..." She was in much shock as I was and wasn't sure what to do. I then leaned over to her and said "if you could clean this up...I'm going to go..." As soon as that was done I darted over to my mom...quietly coming up to her I said "MOM WE NEED TO GO NOW, MY WATER JUST BROKE !" For being 36 weeks along I was moving pretty fast...I get outside and call soon to be daddy Chad and let him know what is going on. His first comment to me is " Why are you calling me? Call you Doctor..." It made me laugh but I thought her would want to know he is about to be a father. So I hang up with him and call the hospital. They told me to go home and change and head down to the hospital.
I get home and Chad had everything ready for us to go. I grabbed a few other things and out the door we went. I couldn't believe we were going to be parents soon. We get into triage and they have me changed into a gown...as soon as I sit down my water breaks even more...I ended up soaking the bed and my gown, it was pretty yucky...they have me change once again and then they hook the cords on my. Although I was only dilated to a 1 I was already having back contractions and my labor and delivery nurse Amanda Jo came in and said we were going to move into the delivery room. Oh Boy here we go I thought.
They once again set me up to the monitors and my contractions were about 5 minutes apart. They did not feel good at all and they only got worse and closer together. My anesthesiologist (who does epidurals) came in to let me know what was going to happen when that time came. His name was CJ and he was super nice and made me feel more at ease about the whole thing...After he left Amanda Jo came in and checked to see how far dilated I was cause I was really uncomfortable. I was only at a 2 and I couldn't get my epidural until I was at a 3 so they gave me some other awesome drug that made me go completely limp and out for the count with in 2 minutes. It really helped for about an hour 1/2 then I woke up with contractions again. She checked me once more and I was finally at a 4!!!
I was So excited so I wouldn't have to deal with the pain anymore. I only felt a few light contractions after it was done and then it was like heaven! After they had another nurse come in a put a catheter in since my leg weren't movable to go to the bathroom. That was fun haha. They then put me on my side and put this ball in between my legs called a peanut ball to help keep things open down there and so forth. I fell asleep again for about 2 hours.
I then woke up to some pressure by my catheter. Amanda Jo checked me out and I had a little bloody show going and I was dilated to a 9!! Crazy-ness huh? At this point my sister was her with chad and I and my mo was on her was and so was my mother in law. My nurse turns to us 3 and says "let try and push a few times to get things going before Dr Mikel gets here." My sister was in shock we were going to push without a Dr present in the room but my nurse knew what she was doing. So We get my legs propped up and we pushed with each contraction/ pressure I felt. We only did 3 pushed and chad and Sheena could already see the top of her head.
We then waited for Dr Mikel to come in to finish out the delivery. When we first started to push Dr Mikel said he was going to have to make a small cute because I was so small. I was fine with it so we went on pushing. Next thing I know I am pushing, push after push getting closer and closer... then my contractions stopped...so she sat in the canal for a minute or two but then started up again. So after 12 or so pushes our bundle of joy Rylee entered the world! 5 lbs 13 oz, 18.9 inches long.
When they put her in my arms I couldn't believe what I was seeing. That was our baby girl. She had become apart of out eternal family. I couldn't be more happy to call her my own. I love her sooo much!
As I am getting sewed up I watch as they clean my baby up. Sheena and Chad are over taking a look at her and getting video and pictures. When they are done cleaning her up they put her in the little crib next to me... They noticed after a while that her breathing wasn't very good and the rushed her into the special care nursery. I wasn't to worried at first cause they didn't really explain what was going on.
They get me all cleaned up and ready to move me to the postpartum room for recovery and on the way over to room 1128 they played a little lullaby informing the hospital a baby was born. After we get settled in our room they inform us that Rylee isn't breathing very well on her own and that she had got some amniotic fluid in her lungs. So they had to put a c-pap on her to help push oxygen into her little lungs. My poor little Rylee. I didn't know what to think. This was not what I was expecting. But things happen for reasons. Walking in the Special Care nursery for the first time seeing her with all those cords and tubs around her was so difficult for Chad and I.
We weren't going to be getting discharged until Monday so we had the rest of the weekend to spend with Rylee. It wasn't easy going in and seeing her every day like that but we bother knew it was the best place for her to be.
The day we got discharged they told us that because she was getting a little yellow they would have to put some special lights on her for jaundice. So on top of having the c-pap on her they added lights and a black mask to protect her eyes. It made me really sad. She hasn't had a break or a breather since she was born.
We didn't leave the hospital till late Monday night cause depending on some results they got back would depend on if she was going to have to be transferred over to Dessert Banner Hospital for extra support and care. When 8 pm came around they told us that she would be staying put and that the medicine was work well enough to keep her here. Chad and I were so relieved. to hear the news. We then said our good byes for the night and headed home. It was not a easy good bye but we had to keep saying to ourselves that she is getting what she needs there and she is only going to get stronger.
Sleeping was a joke for the both of us and we shed some tears as well. Since we've been home we go and see her every day an check up on her. She continues to improve everyday and that is all Chad and I ask for. She is such a fighter. We love her so much and can't wait to take her home with us.
The nurse today (5/18) said that if they can keep her oxygen level below 30 for the rest of the day they should be able to take off the c-pap tonight or tomorrow! I sure hope she can manage it and go with it.

We will keep you updated when we hear more!

Keeping Busy

Things have been very busy as of lately. At the beginning of the month we decided to move out of our apartment (sniff sniff) and move back in with my parents for a while to save up and to get caught up on things. Its not ideal but its going to be helpful. And I am thankful they have the room to help us out.

Chad is working for my dad still and started night calls again, so thats been fun, especially when he drags me along to go pick up a body or 2...eww! But he likes when I come cause he has someone to talk to and keep him company. And I don't want to pass up time with my hubby :)

I am still working at Crismon Elem. Working with special need kids. I love what I do. The kids bring me so much joy. They can be a handful at times but they say and do the funniest things that make me forget how out of hand they can get. I truly have the best job. It's getting harder to work cause of my belly growing with one of my own and it makes me sad cause I really love these kids and they have a special place in my heart. I hope I can finish out the school year but its cutting it close, so we will just have to wait and see.

Rylee is doing great. We have an appointment this coming week. She is moving around so much. I can really tell now that she is moving where as before I wasn't always positive it was her or gas or who knows what... lol. My sister and sister in laws and Chad's mom and aunts are starting to plan the baby shower and they are making it a surprise for me so all I have to worry about is providing address for the baby shower. Which by the way is APRIL 9th!!! SO mark your calenders! Time is just flying by and Rylee will be here before we know it. Chad can't wait for his little girl to arrive...he isn't very patient...lol.

Chad just had his 22nd birthday in January! He said it didn't really feel like his birthday this year which made me sad but I still think he enjoyed it. I love my hubby so much, I couldn't have made a better choice in a husband. He is my best friend and I can't wait to see him become a wonderful father to our Rylee!.

Happy late Valentines Day! Hope everyone had a great love day wither you were with your loved one or your family. I hope the love was spread to everyone! Chad and I decided to grab a bite at apple bees for dinner that night and then treat ourself to the new IPic Theaters out in Scottsdale. It was alotof fun. We went and saw "The Eagle" with Channing Tatum. It was really good! Not very romantic but it was really good. For gifts I got Chad te gift of Wedding pictures put on our wall since I haven't got any printed or put up. And chad is getting me a new wedding ring. I am so excited. But I wont get it till March. I am still really excited though.

Other then that we are just getting ready for Rylee to make her grand debut!

lots of love
Ash

Over half way there

Today marks 22 weeks of being pregnant! I can hardly believe this is already half over! This pregnancy have had a lot of ups and downs. But I have been grateful for every one of them. They have made me a better person and soon be a great mom!

On Thursday the 27th I went in for a ultra sound and a doctors apt. Chad had to work so I had my mom, sister and my niece Janae to come along. I don't like going by myself especially something this exciting. She is 12 oz right now and she looks beautiful! They gave us more pictures and a mini video (if you look close enough in the video she looks right at you...its crazy) She didn't move around to much though. I think she was sleeping and we tried to wake her up. lol.

Well we are done registering for Rylee. It was so much fun! One of my sister-in-laws Becky has already given us 2 onesies and a home made blanket. Its super cute. Also I have had people from my ward as well as from my parents ward donate baby clothes. And my sister and mom bought a swing at a yard sale for a pretty good deal. ITs so unreal sometimes that I am having a baby, but I am. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father who has given me so much. I can't wait to have my own little eternal family in June.

My sweet Rylee

She looks like she is praying
There she is looking at you
Chad's mom says she has a cute nose, I have to agree

Close up!

Waiting is finally over

I don't want to forget this day, it seemed like such a blur. It went by way to fast but I have the most perfect gift from today. Today was perfect from start to finish! When I woke up today I looked at my baby bump thinking "I get to find out if your a little Rylee or a little Troy". The thing is I had to wait all the way till 2:00 in the afternoon to find out. So I got ready for work and waited inpatciently all morning and afternoon while I drank tons of water. I wanted to make sure I drake enough so the ultrasound tech could get a good picture of the baby. Well I think I drank a little to much water, but no one told me how much to drink or not to drink so I drank about 1/2 a 32oz when I took my prenatal that morning, a little more when I first got to work, a full 32 oz during lunch and just over 1/2 of another 32 oz just before my appointment. Needless to say it got uncomfortable really fast. Any kind of bump or hit of the brake on the way to the doctors office was a killer. I thought I ws going to explode! I never thought I would have to go to the bathroom so bad in my life till today. Once Chad and I got to the doctors office I signed in as quickley as possible so they could get me in so that I could pee sooner. I went to go sit by Chad and I couldnt even do that. I was in so much pain!! I mean not only is your bladder completly full to the max but you have a baby sitting on it, so you can understand where I am coming from. Finally after what seems like an hour (when it was not even 5 mins) they call me in and we go in and they frist thing I am asked by the tech is "How are you doing?" With out even having to think of an answer I say "pretty good BUT I REALLY HAVE TO PEE" She said well hop on up and will get a few pictures done and then you can pee. I couldnt wait to to find out what we were going tobe ing but I also couldn't wait to pee!! lol. So I pull up my shirt and roll my pants down a little and she begings to put the cold gel on my baby bump (the cold didn't help the need to pee by the way) She start with doing some measure-ments of her head and tummy. Then she gets an angle from under her legs and butt and says "See those 2 little lines...?....your having a GIRL!" I was super happy. I looked at Chad and was like" We're having a baby girl!" He just had a huge smile on his face. It was priceless. He is going to be a teriffic daddy! Fianlly she lets me go potty and then I come back and we do more pictures of our sweet baby girl Rylee!! The Tech lady even did some video. I love being able to watch her move even after the appointment. It's the most incredible thing to watch. To see a little child of God that is so close to both here and there. I feel so blessed to become a mommy! Knowing I get to raise this precious daughter of God. This is a day I will never forget. I can't wait to show her these pictures and videos when she is old enough. I can't wait to hold her in my arms and indure the endless nights with her. Before today I didn't think I could love the baby this much before she is even born but today has opened up my eyes alot. I love her so much. Just know she's in there and growing makes me love her more and more. One of the best days ever. I love my little family and my baby girl Rylee.

This is that view I was telling you about! She was ready for that shot for sure!!!

There she is. Cute profile! Chad's mom said she already has Chad's nose!

I love this one! It looks like she is either
1) throwing a fit
2) praising us?...lol... or
3) praying
I love my little Rylee

She's a dancing queen!

Guess What...?!?!

If you haven't heard already Chad and I are expecting! We found out October 3rd. So that means I am 17 1/2 weeks along. We will find out the sex of the baby just after the new year! We couldn't be more excited to be starting our family. I feel so blessed to be carrying one of our Heavenly Fathers blessed children. I am due June 6th, just the day after my birthday! I thought thats was really fun and exciting, Happy Birthday to me!! Chad is very very Excited to become a daddy. He REALLY wants a boy first but I think we are going to have a girl first but I guess we will just have to find out in January. I don't really care what we have I am just excited to be a mommy. The pegnancy has been pretty intresting. Between feeling neausas, indigestion, back pains and head aches, I think I have had my fair share. Plus it's lasted way into my 2nd trimester. And everyone said the 2nd trimester is amazing but I haven't felt amazing yet but every pregnancy is different. Chad and I have already picked out names. For a BOY: Troy Dominic Carton. For a Girl: Rylee Addison Carton.

I am almost half way done and can't wait to meet our bundel of joy!
Pictures coming soon!

OK its been to long...

Well life has been busy and I just have not made any time to blog about how our lives are going. I wont go into crazy detail but here is whats been going on...

Since 2010 arrived we celebrated the new year with family. Toward the end of November I got a job working at a school in the preschool department with kids that have special needs. They are the cutest. I enjoy going to work for once and its not boring and its different everyday. I am so blessed to be able to work and learn from these beautiful childern of our Heavenly Father. In Feb we finally moved out of my mom and dad's house and got our own place. Its a cute little apartment that works for our needs as of right now but can't wait to be able to get into a house and have more room and be able to bring out dog with us. He is staying over at my parents house. My mom doesnt mind the company but my dad wishes we would take the dog with us. But he just has to deal with it for the time being. I think secretly he loves Bandit but oh well. March came and went and then came April...I was really looking foward from this point on cause of our anniversary and we found out that we were expecting. (we found out of confrence weekend) It was so crazy and unreal. I was so excited and so was chad. After a week went by I started having problems and ended up having a miscarriage. At first I didnt really think any thing of it because on Wednesday I started to have a tiny bit of cramping. My mom and sister told me that that was normal. On Thursday I started to have light bleeding and thought I might be spotting and didnt worry much about it. On Friday I went to work ( 8:00 am) and the cramps were more intense and the bleeding we heavier... I left at 8:30 cause I couldnt handle the pain and drove home in tears.I was so gratful chad had the day off so he could help me. I selp from the time I got home till 1:00pm. Things finally camled down when I woke up. I felt like I did on thursday more or less. I called my Doc and they had me come in on Monday and told me to take it really easy over the weekend. I tried to be positive through all of it, even though it wasnt easy at times. But it wasnt up to me at that point, My Savior and Heavenly Father know was best for me and I was blessed enough to have that tiny little baby/spirit come to me for a short amount of time. I know I will be able to see him or her after this life. That is why I am so gratful for the plan of salvation. I know that my family willl be together forever. Although I was disappointed I know that we will be blessed to have other childeren of out Heavenly Father comes to our family. I can't wait to start our family so that I can share with them how much I love this gosple and our Savior. ( I know I went into detail but I needed to let this out) After that we were looking forward to our 1 year anniversary. Chad took me to a morning movie ( the back up plan) then out to Benihana's and then for some Gelato...Yummy! I was a great night and I look forward to many more anniversarys with him. The Spirit of...

I just love this time of Year! The scary decorations, the amazing costumes, the candy, and the Trick or Treating. How could you not love this time of year. Its so much fun. You get to dress up as whatever you heart desires. Its the only time you can look like a fool and get away with it. I amso excited even if I only pass out candy because I will get to see all the cute little kids in their costumes.

But what I am REALLY excited for though is...

Christmas!

I walked into the Hobby Lobby the other day and what to my wonderous eyes ddi see but Christmas decorations beyond all else. I Couldn't believe how much there was and we havn't even gotten through Halloween. But it made me super happy! I can't wait to pull out the decorations and start to really feel the Spirit of Christmas.
